Profile Summary
I’m a motivated and dedicated mechanical engineer currently three‑quarters of the way through my general engineering apprenticeship. I have strong hands‑on experience across fabrication, machining, welding, installation, maintenance, and repairs. My background also includes five years working on heavy diesel waste‑removal trucks, where I learned fast, adapted quickly, and took ownership of repairs. I’m known for my positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to tackle any task. I work well independently or in a team and bring strong problem‑solving ability and practical skill to every job.
Experience
I’ve carried out fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repairs for clients across Hawke’s Bay and beyond. I’m confident working on‑site or off‑site with minimal supervision, following health and safety requirements, and delivering high‑quality work. My role has included CNC machining, lathe and mill operation, welding (MIG, TIG, stick, gas), and general engineering tasks.
Before my apprenticeship, I worked as a diesel mechanic, repairing and maintaining heavy waste‑removal trucks. I learned quickly, handled early starts and late finishes, ordered parts, and communicated with suppliers. This role strengthened my mechanical knowledge, independence, and problem‑solving skills.
