Profile Summary
I’m a motivated Level 3 Mechanical Engineering graduate with a strong interest in welding, fabrication, and machining. Welding is the area I’m most passionate about and hope to specialise in as I progress through my engineering pathway. My grounding in Te Ao Māori has shaped my work ethic, discipline, humility, and commitment to contributing to something bigger than myself. Alongside my engineering training, I’ve developed leadership, communication, and organisational capability through rangatahi development, cultural education, and historical research roles. I’m now seeking an apprenticeship or further study to continue building my engineering skills with the long‑term goal of bringing those skills back to support my iwi and community.
Experience
I currently work as a Rangatahi Development Lead, designing and delivering youth programmes, managing teams, logistics, and communications, and researching historical material. I also work part‑time as a Community Liaison for the Electoral Commission, educating the public on enrolling and voting, and creating engagement activities for rangatahi. Previously, I served as a Cultural Advisor developing Te Reo Māori resources, teaching tikanga, waiata, and supporting cultural capability across the organisation.
