Objective:
I am a motivated and hardworking individual transitioning into the HVAC industry, with a strong desire to build a long-term career in refrigeration and air conditioning. My goal is to gain hands-on experience, complete my apprenticeship, and become a qualified technician. I’m passionate about working in a field that blends technical skills and problem-solving, and I’m committed to ongoing learning and development. I bring strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills from my previous management roles, and I’m excited to apply them to a trade where I can grow, contribute, and eventually run my own HVAC business.
Experience:
Have over 10 years of experience in hospitality, including 7 years in management roles, where I developed leadership, problem-solving, and hands-on operational skills. Most recently, I’ve been studying the Level 3 Pre-Electrical course, gaining practical exposure to electrical theory, systems, and safe work practices. I’ve also completed Site Safe and First Aid training. My interest in HVAC developed through my studies and practical projects, and I’m now keen to shift into a technical trade where I can apply my strong work ethic and practical mindset in a more hands-on, mechanical environment.
Qualifications:
I hold a Level 3 Certificate in Pre-Electrical Engineering. I have also completed Site Safe and First Aid certifications, ensuring I understand safety standards and procedures in trade environments. Additionally, I hold a full New Zealand driver’s license and have completed various management training modules in my previous roles. While studying, I gained foundational knowledge in electrical systems, circuitry, tools, and workplace safety, which I am eager to build upon through an HVAC apprenticeship.
Skills:
I have strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills developed from years in leadership roles. I am a quick learner with hands-on experience in tools and electrical systems from my pre-trade course. I’m reliable, safety-conscious, and have a can-do attitude. I work well independently and in teams and am comfortable dealing with challenges under pressure. I’m also tech-savvy, mechanically minded, and eager to learn the technical skills required in HVAC. My customer service background makes me confident interacting with clients, which is a valuable asset in the field.
